The Plumed Serpent

David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930) was an English novelist, poet, playwright and literary critic, one of the key writers of the early twentieth century, most famous for his criticism of rationalism and industrialization. Partially projecting author's political views, the novel "The Plumed Serpent" tell a story of a European woman Kate Leslie and her adventure in Mexico. After meeting with several unusual personalities, she enters their religious cult, full of intrigues, passions, and pagan rituals.
